MACQUARIE POINT - EDIBLE PRECINCT
The Edible Precinct comprises of both exotic and native plantings. SESL designed a potting media for use within growing “modules” based on the simple and iconic Tasmanian wooden apple crate.

The media could not be comprised of soils due its fineness and potting media due to rapid decay therefore the blend was developed using primarily a coarse woody mulch due to its porosity and longevity (up to 5 years).

The plant communities have so far established well (see Figure 1 and 2).
