In response to evolving industry needs, SESL Australia has recently expanded its capacity by investing in additional groundbreaking equipment, gaining NATA accreditation for the latest national standard AS 5370:2024 for bulk testing, and training staff in advanced asbestos analysis techniques, ensuring it remains at the forefront of industry capability.
SESL Australia’s state-of-the-art facility is equipped to perform asbestos with precision and accuracy, supporting a wide range of industry requirements. SESL Australia utilises advanced analytical techniques, including Polarised Light Microscopy (PLM) and Dispersion Staining (DS), in accordance with AS 5370:2024, to detect and identify asbestos fibres in:
Building Materials – Qualitative analysis of chrysotile, amosite, crocidolite, as well as organic fibres and man-made vitreous fibres
Soils, Mulch, Ores and Minerals – Detection and quantification as per
AS 5370:2024 (detection limit of 0.01% w/w)
Soil Assessment – In accordance with NEPM and WA
Department of Health guidelines for asbestos in soils
