SESL Australia operates a NATA-accredited laboratory in Sydney, offering comprehensive asbestos identification services in bulk materials, soils and other matrices. SESL Australia’s laboratory is accredited to ISO/IEC 17025 and complies with stringent Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) and quality management standards, delivering accurate and reliable results that meet both industry and regulatory requirements.

 

With years of experience in asbestos testing, SESL Australia has built a strong reputation for quality and technical excellence. In response to evolving industry needs, SESL Australia has recently expanded its capacity by investing in additional groundbreaking equipment, gaining NATA accreditation for the latest national standard AS 5370:2024 for bulk testing, and training staff in advanced asbestos analysis techniques, ensuring it remains at the forefront of industry capability.

SESL Australia’s state-of-the-art facility is equipped to perform asbestos with precision and accuracy, supporting a wide range of industry requirements. SESL Australia utilises advanced analytical techniques, including Polarised Light Microscopy (PLM) and Dispersion Staining (DS), in accordance with AS 5370:2024, to detect and identify asbestos fibres in:

Building Materials – Qualitative analysis of chrysotile, amosite, crocidolite, as well as organic fibres and man-made vitreous fibres

Soils, Mulch, Ores and Minerals – Detection and quantification as per
AS 5370:2024 (detection limit of 0.01% w/w)

Soil Assessment – In accordance with NEPM and WA
Department of Health guidelines for asbestos in soils
