Simon Leake’s SESL Aust and Tim O’Hare’s TOHA UK have entered a Joint Venture to service the Middle East’s burgeoning development programme, where activity has hit record highs.
With both companies having already completed and currently working on many of the regions mega projects including King Salman Park, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia; Oman Botanic Garden, Muscat, Oman; The Palm & World Islands Dubai UAE; Education City Doha Qatar; Al Falah Community, Abu Dhabi UAE and an array of other multibillion dollar ventures under NDAs, the partnership will allow around the clock service to this region, offering clients what has been described as “the ultimate service with seamless 24 hour capabilities from two of the world’s leading Soil Scientists”.
Founded 40 years ago by Simon Leake, SESL Aust has grown into one of the world’s most respected Soil and Environmental consultancies. Working on many of Australia’s most iconic sites from Sydney Olympic Park, through to soil design and guardianship for Barangaroo Headland Park, Western Sydney Airport, major tunnelling projects along the eastern seaboard and a long list of civil and private projects. SESL Aust caught the attention of Middle Eastern developers for its expertise in arid saline environments, coupled with the most contemporary innovations in urban soil design. Both disciplines are critical for development in this region. www.sesl.com.au
Tim O’Hare, having already enjoyed a distinguished career from 1993, established Tim O’Hare Associates (TOHA) in the UK in 2006. TOHA is widely recognised as the UK’s leading Soil and Landscape consultancy as well as servicing the European continent, through to the Middle East. www.toha.co.uk
Tim pioneered the design and use of manufactured soils in UK landscape projects. TOHA’s extensive list of Tier one projects, includes Terminal 5 at Heathrow, Mayfield Park (Manchester, UK), Parque Central (Valencia, Spain), and Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park (London, UK). It is at this iconic site where the soil science juggernauts, Simon and Tim first met in 2015.
Since then, both companies have collaborated on numerous projects, shared expertise through conference presentation, peer reviews and with the continuing volume of work coming from the Middle East, it was a natural step to form a Joint Venture. The Joint Venture will open offices in the region in the near future to further add to its delivery capabilities.
SESL Aust and TOHA’s Joint Venture will become an international partnership to service existing and future projects and developments throughout the world.
