SESL Australia Green Wall

At SESL Australia, nature is more than just a backdrop—it’s a source of inspiration and a driver of creativity and well-being. Early this year, we transformed our vision into reality with The Beaker Green Wall, a vibrant plant wall that celebrates the intersection of innovative design and horticultural expertise.

This collaborative project was conceptualized and designed by Dana Cetojevic, and it came to life with the collective efforts of our team. Notably, Owen Guy, our Soil Science Manager, played a pivotal role in the soil design, creating a unique, lightweight soil tailored specifically for the wall’s vertical environment. This innovative soil mix ensures optimal water retention, aeration, and support for the diverse range of plants.

Samantha Grant-Vest, our Horticulturist and Environmental Manager, was instrumental in selecting the plant varieties and overseeing the horticultural aspects of the project. Her expertise ensured that the wall not only looks stunning but also thrives as a living, dynamic feature of our workspace.

A Diverse Collection of Plants

Our wall hosts a carefully curated collection of over 100 pots featuring diverse foliage in shades of green, blue, red, and silver, creating a dynamic tapestry of colors and textures. Here’s a look at the variety of plants we selected:

  • Green Foliage Plants:

    • Sedum mexicanum (Golden Mound) - 10 potsRhipsalis baccifera (Mistletoe Cactus) - 6 potsHoya carnosa - 6 pots…and more!

  • Blue/Green Foliage Plants:

    • Echeveria sp - 8 potsSenecio mandraliscae (Blue Chalk Sticks) - 10 potsFestuca glauca (Elijah Blue) - 6 pots…and more!

  • Red Foliage Plants:
