SESL Australia has evolved over 40 years and is now one of Australia’s leading soil, environmental, water and plant science laboratory and consultancy service. Our Head office in Sydney is unique in that it includes a specialist laboratory. We have a wide range of public and private sector clients including variously tiered construction companies, engineering and environmental firms, urban and landscape designers, recycling and resource recovery managers, composters, artificial soil producers, sports-field maintenance operators, agricultural producers.
Responsibilities
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Business Development Manager to join our team of dedicated soil and environmental scientists. Your day-to-day responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities to achieve sales targets and revenue growth.

Generating new business through cold calls, attending networking events and promotions to develop new opportunities.

Developing and maintaining strong relationships with new and existing clients.

Conducting market research to identify trends, competition and potential areas for new growth.

Creating and presenting engaging presentations and proposals to prospective clients.

Forecasting sales targets, updating customer details and completing sales reports which provide insights and recommendations for improvement.

Staying updated on industry developments and emerging trends to inform business strategies.

Planning approaches and pitches for new business through positive engagement with the SESL Australia team.

Commitment to customer service excellence and a result- oriented approach.

This role is offered on a full-time basis.
About you
We are seeking a driven, energetic and competitive Business Development Manager who will creatively promote our bespoke products. Ideally you will bring:

Previous work experience in Business Development Management role with demonstrated track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.

Proven experience in client facing roles and Sales using tools to present products to clients, which showcase your clear and sharp negotiation and networking skills.

Demonstrated ability to acquire new clients, manage client relationships and achieve revenue growth.

Experience in dealing and/or contacts with retail/wholesale nurseries, garden equipment and hardware suppliers desirable.

Superior organisational and problem-solving skills.

Strong oral and written communication skills.

Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.

Tertiary qualifications in agriculture, soil science, horticulture, geology, environmental science or relevant earth sciences and/or customer service, marketing or a sales-related field.

Current drivers licence for frequent travel, including interstate travel.

Drive and commitment to succeed and to be a strong contributor to the growth and success of SESL Australia.
