About this role

Do you have extensive experience with LIMS and want a leadership role which is crucial for the ongoing success of our niche and well-established NATA accredited laboratory?
​
SESL Australia is seeking an experienced and motivated QA/QC Officer to develop, maintain and continually improve SESL Australia’s Quality Management system internally and ensure that quality systems are updated in line with regulatory requirements.
​
Responsibilities
​
This role will involve using your technical skills and knowledge to:
​

Oversee LIMS administration including generating new test codes, procedures, calculations, troubleshooting errors and generating LIMS CoAs;

Prepare all NATA and ISO Audits and maintaining compliance with associated registrations;

Oversee and maintain the Incident/Opportunity (I/O) database that captures incidents, corrective actions and improvement opportunities to ensure continuous compliance;

Managing Company policies, procedures and statutory requirements;

Understand and maintain all requirements of relevant standards;

Plan and conduct reporting audits, as well as organise and maintain the internal audit program;

Maintain an in-depth knowledge of the Quality System related to relevant standards;

Maintain a thorough understanding of Legislation, Regulations and Industry Standards impacting SESL Australia’s Quality Management System;

Oversee and maintain the document control system;

Data entry of laboratory testing results; and
-
Ensuring that SESL Australia’s quality system adheres to the requirements of NATA and ISO9001 accreditation/certification (or the then appropriate certification level).
About you
​

Minimum 5 years’ experience with a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) is mandatory;
-
Experience with a relationship-based live database such as FileMaker Pro, Microsoft Access, LibreOffice Base or similar;

Minimum 5 years’ experience as a QA/QC Officer in a laboratory environment;
-
Strong environment, health and safety focus, including documentation and implementation;

Excellent communication skills, both written and oral;

Demonstrated supervisory experience and the ability to mentor and influence team members in a positive and effective way;

Strong technical, analytical and professional problem-solving skills;
-
High level of personal integrity, work standards and attention to detail;
-
Excellent time management skills, with the ability to action multiple tasks and priorities and successfully handle high pressure work situations;
-
Commitment to learning and continuous improvement;
-
Thorough understanding of Laboratory test methods, equipment and procedures, including Quality Assurance Procedures; and
-
Strong information technology skills.
Qualifications
-
A relevant degree in Engineering, Science, Geology or Earth Sciences, highly desirable.

Relevant assurance certification such as Quality Management, Integrated Management Systems, Risk Management & Compliance.
-
ISO 9001 Lead Auditor/Internal Auditor.
